Quickest OGG to MP3 in XviD media conversion

Hi

I have some Xvid files with .ogg audio. I'm looking for a quick way to convert the .ogg-stream to an .mp3-stream so that i can play the files in my standalone-player.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

The quickest way would probably be to use VirtualDubMod with the Lame ACM codec and direct stream copy the video. You could also use graphedit to demux the audio and convert with besweet.

I have tried the VDubMod and Lame ACM codec procedure. That creates a video file with no audio in it. I choose Video -> Direct Stream Copy and Audio -> MP3 128kbit

I don't have the XviD codec installed - but that isn't needed when i'm going with Direct Stream Copy is it? I use FFDShow for videodecoding.

Any help on that issue?

that wont work in VirtualDubMod unless you have installed a Vorbis ACM... but a Vorbis ACM will at best be crappy.

Only way to do this is extacting the audio and convert it separately

My mistake...I haven't used OGM/OGG in some time, I was under the impression VdubMod had a built-in OGG decoder for OGM.

since that is not the case, like stephanV said, you'll have to extract the audio. Graphedit could be used, but that will be messy. I'd try Mosu's OGMtools (http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/ogmtools/index.html), with BeSweet for conversion.

Thanx for the replies - Besweet is way to complicated and time consuming for the processing i have to do. Is there no way to convert using "Direct Strem Copy" for video and "Full Processing" in VDubMod ?

google for "Vorbis ACM" and install that... but results are not guaranteed

I use fair stars audio converter. I use it when I encode an ogg audio to mp3. It works very good.
