I have read some things about how to do forced subs, but I am confused about when/how I am supposed to do it when using the Big3.

I just finished doing A Bridge Too Far (NTSC) using the New Big3 Method/Guide on Doom9. My final product seems to work great except that forced subs don't work and/or aren't even there. This movie contains a lot of German and other languages where forced subs are used. How can I still use this New Big3 Method/Guide and implement forced subs so they work?

hi zeeter,

please make sure that you have these settings in DIF4U:

Global Options > Pre Processing > 'Autodetect Subtitles/Closed Captions' selected

and

Global Options > Pre Processing > 'Do Not Process Subtitles/Closed Captions' not selected

did you deselect any of the substreams? this might be an oddly authored dvd that has the 'forced' subs on a seperate stream.

please post the contents of the movie .ifo overview (using ifoedit) and provide additional information in regards to your methodology and subtitle selections.

cheers

also scan your SUBS folder for any _forced files (*_forced*.sst)

if those don't exist, then the system didn't find any forced subs

if those are there, then send me your scenaid.log file and I'll look
