Difference in encoding by Dr DivX and DivX codec

Why is there so much of a difference between compressing the file in Dr. DivX and, say, in Premiere, using the same codec DivX. The quality of the file compressed with Dr. DivX is hundred times better than using the same codec in Premier, Studio, Virtual Dub and others. Is it possible to integrate Dr DivX encoding algorithm in Premiere?

if you use the same settings there is no difference... at least, there shouldnt be.

Premiere seems to have problems with exporting to VFW codecs.

The problem you're probably experiencing, though, is outputing interlaced video and encoding as progressive, where as Dr DivX will automatically de-interlace/ivtc for you as appropriate.

Try changing the encoder settings from "Progressive source" to "De-interlace source".
