I am having the same problem in all of my software players (BS, Media Player Classic...etc.)
When I advance the movie forward or backward the sound volume automaticly gets boosted to the max...altough the program is still showing the volume to be on the previous value...
Why is this, and how can i fix it ? :(

It does that for me too, I just wait five minutes or so and it goes back to normal level.

My guess is it's a "normalization" issue of AC3Filter/MatrixMixer ... got those in the filtergraph, huh?

No, I have the ffdshow audio decoder only.
Altough...i'm kind'a newbie in this, maybe i am doing something wrong...

Well, you could try using a different decoder to see if it makes any difference ...

Don't think it's a codec issue, because it happens for me on linux too, and I only have the codecs that came with mplayer on it.

well ffdshow and mplayer use the same library (libavcodec).
I havent had any problem with this though.
