The technology useful MODS or not in the UHDTV?

Hello,

I wondered about the development increased of this holographic technology, alas to the premature stage.
That will say ourselves 10 CD MODS, to stock one hour of UHDTV video (7680*4320) and a complement for the system audio 22.2?
It would be brilliant, it's going to be necessary to an extraordinary genius to lay us a screen of less 11M.

I think this 100GB MODs will not see the light the next 10 years !!!

Coz, the companys want to make money with selling HD-DVD blanks... ;)

EDIT: Actually its not 100GB but 1000GB !!!

10 TERA in 10 years, I doubt a lot.
Only a mathematician can tell me the probability. Unless that you possess some talents out of the video,possible.... :)

Btw, Ive re-read the info about this MODs !!!

Anyhow, its seems you understood my last post wrong !!!

So, I try to "translate" it for you...


We wont see 100GB MODs hit the market the next 10 years !!!

Even if its possible to produce 1TB MODs in the next, lets say 5 years, no company would produce them... Right now they are producing HD-DVDs and Blue-Ray discs, and they wanna make as much money as possible before throwing something new on the market. Think, if you could buy a 1TB MOD, would you still buy HD-DVD's then ??? Dont think so... And keep in mind that this MODs are able to store much more data than a HD-DVD, so you would buy less MOD blanks than you would buy HD-DVD blanks. Overall this would mean -> Less profit for the companys... So, imo its very unlikely that we will see 1TB MODs in the next 10 years !!!

True, no company would hurt their own business like that but other companies might. E.g. i remember there is research about storing data holographically on Tesa tapes. I think the research was still very basic but that shows that there are definitivly companies researching inovative storage devices.

I guess the big companys would simply "snap up" a small company that trys to produce such MODs !!!
