Is it just me or has anybody else noticed things have got pretty quite over at 3ivx?

Neither Stux or Shitowax have posted any comments on the forum for a while!

Anybody with any news?

I see... they're developing an Mpeg4 AVC codec.

But sadly there's no up to date news about it :(

Tell me about it. I started the post and other than whats posted there, I dont see it happening anytime soon. I really think Nero/Ateme comes out on top from what I have seen. Nothing else comes close to quality.

But 3ivx is not only about quality. They announced MP4 editing tool. I wonder, will it support H.264? I really hope so.

IIRC they were gearing up for a release back around when DivX 5.2 came out (August?), but somehow all talk of that vaporized without a trace. I'd hypothesize they decided rather late in to cancel release plans and implement AVC first. This means the next 3ivX will probably be a monster of a release. That's all guestimation though.
