Video editing guides/FAQs?

HI I really could not find on teh site the entry points/FAQs for beginners in video editing. Probably there are guides, but they might be named like "TMPGENC guide" - for noob almost impossible to guess what's that about :)

actually, only very basic video editing is covered (split movie to get a certain size / split movie at a certain time point).. there already is a video editing forum (the nle forum) but so far there are no guides available. I'm afraid I do not have the necessary knowhow to write any, and since I don't have a camera and am not particularly interested in making my own videos, it'll be kinda hard to get myself to a point where I could write a guide. But I'd be glad if somebody with ample experience in video editing would step up to the plate..
