Is it possible to obtain the new direct-show "decoder" filter, separately?
Cheers

Well, it was definately on the site for a couple of minutes, 'cuz I grabbed me a copy. Ya. So, the 2 pass seems better, but then, I had a really old version of VP6 before, so yeah, I can't really compare. It seems a lot faster, too. Um, if it weren't illegal (is it? hmm...), I'd give out copies of the personal use codec, heh. But oh well, nothing all to different about this release--just look at the version numbers.
Also, I still think it's free, cuz I dled it no prob. On2 just said it reached over 550,000 (imagine if I was the 550,001st dler, hoooboy) dls and it wanted to lock up, at least until VP7 came out (which is soon, already testin' in Asia, yeah). But VP7 will charge a fee. (It said "nominal").
Alrighty, cheers, baa

Hi!
Anything noted from the 6.2.0.10 -> 6.2.6.0 -> 6.4.2.0 change ?

Directshow decoder adds less noise (and only when "Approximate film grain" is checked) and seems to "decode" better (less artifacts).
The resulting picture is visually much better.
I still had not the time to test the vfw encoder.
