I'm using tweak to lower the black level in a video and this lower level shows up in Vdub properly. When I encode this avs via CCE, the black level has not changed, still too high when viewed with WinDVD.
I do have "ConvertToYUY2" as my last statement in my avs script (for CCE).
Any thoughts?

Sounds like the luminance levels in CCE is set to 16-235.

Hi Hartford
Yes it is set to 16-235. If I change it to 0-255 will that fix it?

Well, I don't know. I suspect that is the case. Try it!

As your source is YUV and not RGB, this setting will have no effect. There was quite a bit of discussion about this a while back. Something to the effect that the 16-235/0-255 checkbox only had an effect with an RGB source.... Do a search and I'm sure you will find it...
Have you examined the luminance histogram? Also, I have noticed that DVD playback software tends to playback everything bright on my setup - discs play fine on TV however.

I'm sure your right, it must be something to do with YUY2 or the colorspaces. Haven't had a chance to try the 0-255 yet.
