Please can someone help regarding a problem I have trying to encode 6 mono wav's into 5.1 surround , which is to be loaded into Adobe encore to create a DVD with 5.1 sound.

I have 6 mono wav's (48KHz) in a directory ;

d:\decrypted dvds\kneb2\audio2

The 6 files are ;

Audio2_1 (FL)
Audio2_2 (FR)
Audio2_3 (C)
Audio2_4 (LFE)
Audio2_5 (SL)
Audio2_6 (SR)

I'm using Besweet latest version with GUI.
AC3/OGG/PCM settings are bitrate 448, create 5.1AC3 (motorola)
PCM section shows wave, 5.1 wave.

When I choose 'input' file - I can only choose 1 of the wav files, not all 6.
I therefore chose 'audio2_1.wav' as the input file.
Output file is 'audio2_1.ac3'
There seems to be no way of selecting all 6 wav files.

I tried encoding this, and found a file does get created, but only plays at half speed when loaded into Adobe Encore, and is not surround.

My log shows ;

I realise this is going to be a basic error I have made, but would appreciate any help. I have experiemnted with other settings with no luck.

I use softencode to produce my AC3`s, the AC3enc.dll used in besweet will give you a final ac3 that is very quiet, not worth the hastle imho.

Yes, but Softencode is not freeware. On the other hand, BeSweet, is freeware. You can create a .mux file. The order of the file is FL,FR,C,LFE,SL,SR.

Audio2_1.wav
Audio2_2.wav
Audio2_3.wav
Audio2_4.wav
Audio2_5.wav
Audio2_6.wav

Save that as a .mux file and use it as the input file.
