k might be a bit strange to ask here, but i have no clue where to post this and just hope one of you guys might know :)

I am looking for that tune everytimes played when Duffman enters the scene in The Simpsons.
The same tune was also used in the movie "The secret of My Succes".
Anyone know the name of the track and artist?

A sample can be found at:

Googling with the keywords:duffman music simpsonsfound this link: http://www.snpp.com/guides/music.html

The tune is called "Oh, Yeah" and was performed by Yello, in 1987.

Additional searching of the ASCAP ACE database showed me that it was published by Warner Bros, was written by Blank Boris and Meier Dieter, and there are six different variations. Here's a shortened version of the url to the entry in the ACE database: http://shorl.com/delanostikury

It has not been recorded by any other artists.

Ain't Google fun?

[EDIT: Neo Neko is a faster typist than I am.]

Hehe. I just like that sort of music. I have an album or two of theirs. They have not been to active in a long time though. :( Them and Kraftwerk back in the 80's. "I'm a smooth opperator on my pocket calculator." Boop beep bop boop

Great!

Thnx to everyone. I was completely off the ball, though the artist was something with "... going to hollywood..." or alike.

"Frankie goes to Hollywood" -- right time frame, good guess. Their first album was released in '84. Their latest album was released in '02, so they still seem to be in operation, though apparently, with some membership changes.

Neo Neko - Kraftwerk still do live stuff. (if you call it live - they barely moved on stage. one of them started jiggling his leg and everybody gasped).

great stuff.

i've found my '80s collection expanding in proportion to the increasingly bad sound of current discs (play an '80s disc back-to-back with a new release. you'll be diving for the volume control).

Yeah but they really haven't done much albumwise. Further I think they may have once in their lives visited my forsaken part of the country. Maybe once. And I don't have the funds to go overseas to see them. :P

Not I. I use a little thing called replay gain. ;) I even use it on the DVD I rip and the videos I cap. Makes a big difference. :D

hehe... well, unfortunately my amp (of similar vintage to that Yello song) doesn't support replaygain.

of course i could run my computer into it, but the sound card is poo, and cables are so long they pick up RF interference (i have to turn the TV on to stabilize it)
