Hi,
check if "Autodetect subtitles/close captioning" option is ticked in the global options->pre processing
Dumb question but who knows... Have you selected any subs in the "Subtitle Streams" box ?
Last but not the least, is "Subs" ticked in "Optional Switches ..." (it is automatically checked if you activate the option "Autodetect subtitles/close captioning") ?

All these settings are done. Still no subs extracted.
I noticed a warning
vsrip
error parsing parameter file.

No way to get vsrip to process the subtitles.
Is it possible to rip with Subrip to a subs folder and how would reauthorist create a scenarist scp script in a way the subs will be imported into scenarist?

yes you can rip your subtitles with subrip. I don't know what to do after because i prefer import them manually in scenarist but you could try to move your freshly (*.bmp) ripped subs and the *.sst file to the VTS(XX)/subs/VTS_(XX)_VSUB_P(W)A(Y)-(ZZ)- directory WITHOUT the () where X=VTS number, W=PGC number, Y=Angle number, Z=Subs number.
You should use ScenAid to generate the script.
Remember to have *.idx and *.sub files named like VTS_(XX)_VSUB_P(W)A(Y) in the /VTSXX directory.
I don't know if it works but if it doesn't import your subs on your own in scenarist.
Ohhh try to rerip your subs with the VSRip/VSConv included in the last ScenAid before.
hope this will help

@DaRtHmAuL
Thanks for the reply. I'm a newbie concerning your solution. I tried the version of scenaid, no way to rip the subs. I've tried several pal dvds. How to import manually into scenarist?

If the subs arent extracted in the doitfast4u step then scenaid/reauthorist have nothing to work with.
if you are working straight off the dvd then you have to make sure you are using the newest dvd decrypter (older versions would make it impossible to extract the subs working directly off the origional encrypted dvd)
can you paste the summary page from the main movie IFO? use ifoedit to do that.

You need your *.sst with the appropriate *.bmp subs.
Generate the script without subs suppport in ScenAid. Import your script into Scenarist.
Then :
1 - in the "track editor" window, select the track you want to add subs and double click on it
2 - you have to create the number of subs streams you need (click New->Subpicture Stream)
3 - now import your subs (click Tools->Import Subtitle)
4 - Edit the subs which need (like forced subs, etc...)
I know it's not so helpfull but there is a thread about it.
Let me see if i find it, i'll let you know.
