I don't understand the smiley, but I think you want to know what SFU are: it's something like Cygwin or MinGW - just not open source, but from Microsoft. it enables you to do standard Unix (i.e. shell-) scripting on top of windows nt. (I fear it has M$ propietary extensions again so it's not really 100% *nix-compliant. I wonder why that isn't standard equipment for windows nt btw., as NT is advertised as being posix compliant...)

I'm not entirely sure and I have no experience with SFU, but I think they extend Windows also with stuff like NFS. If I remember correctly the basic idea was to provide better Windows/UNIX interoperability.

Edit: Yes, it indeed provides NFS and NIS. I remember there is s.th. similar from HP to syncronize Tru64 UNIX and Windows accounts. Nothing that can't be done with Samba, though.

From my bench NFS is faster then samba.

11.2MB/s vs ~8.5MB/s

I'm entirely sure this very much depends on which platform you measure NFS vs. Samba performance, also which implementation of NFS/SMB and which clients you are serving. Can you give details about that?
