On My PC, the 1.23 version of Auto GK works fine, but if i install version 1.6, then each time I select the DVD I get "make sure you used dvd decrypter in ifo mode" error message.
Reverted to version 1.23, works for me.
Anyone got a hint on this one ?
Thanks,
Fab
PS : I looked, but didn't find a solution in the archives. If it exists, please don't flame, point me to it :)

Hello, and welcome to the forum.
From version 1.30 Beta and beyond, only DVD Decrypter IFO-parsed rips are valid. Prior to 1.30 Beta, there were other choices.
My guess is that AGK is not able to confirm your rips -- What release of DVD Decrypter are you using? The current version is 3.5.1.0.
Also, check FAQ question 1.4 -- just in case your Streams Information text file has something invalid in it.

that's the point, I am not using dvd decrypter at all, but ripping straight from the DVD, using AnyDVD to uncss it. Works fine with my old 1.23 version. So you are telling me that after version 1.30 this choice is dead and buried, and that you absolutely need to go through the extra step of dvd decrypter ? that would be too bad, and will probably keep me on the 1.23.
thx again :)

Yes, that's the case. Read the FAQ.

Too bad though :p
Are there major improvements in ripping quality between 1.23 and the present 1.7 ?

I believe so, yes. But don't take my word for it. You can see the product's history up to 1.60 at http://len0x.btothec.com/web3/modules.php?name=History and for 1.70, the included history.txt file states - sharp resizer is now Lanczos4Resize
- sharp matrix is now EQM V2
- removed support for old XviD and DivX versions. Now only XviD 1.0.2 and DivX 5.2.1 are supported
- fixed some typos in GUI
- Undot() is replaced by RemoveGrain()
- AutoGK is compiled using new visual libraries (may be some GUI bugs there)
- AutoGK's ini file is no longer in windows directory, but in AutoGK home directory
- custom size is persistent across different runs of AutoGK
- broken frame info from VDubMod is ignored and won't stop AutoGK
- current advanced settings are shown in the status bar of AutoGK
- changed i-frames settings for XviD's second pass
- AutoGK assistant can properly be used to set three hidden option in AutoGK home dir (when launched from CTFR-F9)
- "No Audio" setting is not reset when opening new source
- first pass will be rerun if difference to comp test result after first XviD pass is more that 15% and adjustment of resolution/settings is possible
