Question regarding Scenarist: Seamlessly vs Non-Seamlessly

Hi,

does it have any special playback effect if i define a pgc of several tracks which i define as seamlessly or non seamlessly (by setting the flag in the properties window) ?

There are, within the DVD spec, certain technical circumstances under which non-seamless designations are necessary.

For example, if you authored a cell command, Scenarist would more than likely automatically set this cell as Non-Seamless (which would be the correct thing to do, in this situation).

Broadly-speaking, though, you should try to ensure that you set your PGCs to Seamless playback, if you are to avoid any unexpected pauses during playback.


Scenarist can also multiplex Seamless and Non-Seamless types of Angle Block, the latter allows switching of an audio track at the same time as switching of a video track, but does not play out the remainder of the current GOP, and thus a slight pause/glitch is observed during the switch.

Is this what you were referring to, or did you mean something else?
