Hello,

Is this possible, and if so, how can it be done?

I dunno why but it just irks me :]

Thanks in advance.

I feel like a born again newbie in this thread. What are "junk chunks"? Please clarify and simplify yourself. ;)

Welcome to the forum:

I'm afraid you'll have to be more explicit in your description of what is you wish to accomplish. I know what "junk" and "chunk" mean to me, but I'm not sure we're on the same page. :)

How about more details?

"JUNK" chunks are small sections in AVI files, usually filled with zeroes. They are often used as padding, to ensure that the important AVI sections begin on some preset boundary. It's certainly possible to remove them, but offhand I can't think of a program that will do it.

Sorry..

I think it's called the "metadata" or "comments" as well...it's the few bytes they append to the AVI that isn't part of its audio or video stream. Example: when you view an AVI with GSpot and you see "JUNK VirtualDub" and "JUNK release". Again, I know it has no influence on anything in the movie, but I'm just curious on if and how it can be removed. Thanks to those who replied.
