im making backups of dvd's i bought for my kids because they will destroy the originals. i use dvd shrink to create a 4.7GB iso file. i mount this with dtools and it plays fine

if i "burn image" with nero, the dvd plays (after a small delay) in nero showtime, but my standalone dvd player gives a disc error. windows explorer shows no files at all on this disc, but nero discinfo says it contains a track and there is no space left

whats the correct procedure for burning such an .iso file coming out of dvdshink?

I think the only solution for your problem is to use another burning tool. In general, Nero is NOT recommended for burnings Video-DVDs.

I've read somewhere that Ulead DVD Workshop 2 is the best DVD burning tool, and this is what i always use. All of the produced DVDs are working perfectly, i never had any problems.

Can't give you any information about other burning tools, sry.

Nero is prefectly ok for burning DVD's (as long as you not using the early 6.0.0. vesions).

However a free solution that had proven to be excellent is to install DVD Decrypter (in it's default location). Then select create ISO image and burn with DVD Decrtypter in Shrink. Once the ISO is created, Decrypter loads and starts burning.
