Hello, i just reinstall win due to this problem to get rid of it, but im starting to suspect the XP SP2 for this, but anyway, here's the problem of mine, if you can help pls.

During playback of any video(divx, xvid ..) if i lower the volume of audio and then jump forward or seek to some possition, the volume automaticky pops up to max, but the volume control looks stil the same(no max vol). This is realy annoying thing. I have this problem with media player classic and bsplayer both, so i suspect it's not a player problem, but maybe codec/ driver instead. I have installed divxpro 5.21, xvid(XviD-1.0.2-29082004.exe), ac3filter 1.0rc5, and i have SB audigy 2 with original drivers from CD installed, windows XP SP2. The strange thing is some friends of mine are having the same problem, and they do not even have the same hardware.

Pls write if you hnow how to remove this.
Thanks to all.

I had the very same problem. Here's my details & Fix for the volume problem when moving the slider anywhere along the timeline and have it jump in volume no matter what you do.

I have an Audigy 2 Soundcard ( don't think this has a bearing really because I believe this to be a codec issue)

1. Uninstall Soundcard.

2. Driver Cleaner Pro ( driverheaven.net ) <-- Clean any trace of old soundcard drivers from your machine.

3. JVPower tools ( search for the free version ) or you can use any quality registry cleaner ( be careful! ) <-- Remove any trace / relative entry that has your soundcards name

4. Remove all audio codecs / codec packs ( install and uninstall if you have to )

5. Download up to date drivers for your soundcard.

6. Reboot.

7. Reinstall soundcard drivers and codec packs.

8. Issue resolved.

I believe itīs an Ac3filter bug, i have an Audigy 2 ZS and using AC3filter RC5 with SPDIF passthrough, i get the same issue when I move the seek bar in bsplayer.
It also de-syncs the audio (about 400ms delay), wich is solved by deselecting/reselecting the SPDIF Passthrough checkbox.
But the volume issue never really bothered me (I use the Surround Mixer to set the general volume [Master Control] while BSPlayer or any other remain always at full volume).
