I recently watched again the marvelous movie "Intolerable Cruelty" with Catherine Zeta-Jones and George Clooney, and i just wondered which quotes do you like most as my new signature:

How do you like this one:

"Let me ask you something. Atilla the Hun. Ivan the Teribble. Henry the Eighth. What do they have in common?" — "Middle name?" [Intolerable Cruelty]

Or this one:

"Has she retained counsel?" — "I don't know. She has rottweilers." — "Not a good sign." [Intolerable Cruelty]

I tend to use this one, but maybe you think it's too long:
"Why don't you come out to Malibu and see my new beach house tomorrow?" — "I didn't know Dimitri had a beach house." — "Neither did I until my lawyer found it. Quite a paper trail. He had it in the dog's name." — "Oh. Well, tomorrow won't work. I'm having a body wrap. How's Wednesday" — "Hair appointment in the morning. Afternoon?" — "Shrink. How's your Thursday?" — "I'm having facial injections. That kills Friday and Saturday." — "Botox?" — "Butt fat." — "Does that really work?" — "You tell me." [Intolerable Cruelty]

Good in context of typical doom9 posting situations would be this one:
"I'm not sure that I actually follow that" [Intolerable Cruelty]

Or maybe you think I should stay with my long-used, classical one:
"You want tact, call a tactitian. You want an ass nailed, you call Gas Petch" [Intolerable Cruelty]

I also wonder why there isn't a forum in which people so dedicated do backup dvds, and thus to film in general can discuss movies as such! I would be interested in the personal flavors of film taste of the one or another mod or other interasting people!

Thanks for your feedback!

"Who needs a home when you have a colostomy bag" [Intolerable Cruelty]

yeah, spaceballs... I think Vader in SW 4 is much more funny then that...

My suggestion: don't use a sig containing a quote at all ... they get old real fast.
Regarding your second question: there are sooo many film and dvd discussion boards, I'd rather have one which focuses on the technology aspects of home video ... and sometimes in the "General Discussion" movies get mentioned.

As long any quote reveals a higher truth from a surprising point of view within one sentence or two (like the colostomy one), i really don't care how old it is... :) Just think of any quote you know: I bet the real good ones have their age also...

Yeah, of course i'm glad also that this site keeps focus on the technical aspects, but sometimes i got the impression those compressed guys can be very funny and interesting, so i thought i would like to know a bit more about their film tastes...
