Just noticed some movies don't play if the res is not standard. I have one that is 736x416 and all I get is the audio and it just displays the file listing.

What complete wank this player is. Are there *ANY* players that play most DiVX/XviD?

There are only a few that play files up to 768 pixel.

Are there in meantime stronger MT1389 chip versions or other players/chips that are able to handle higher resulution up to 1080x### or even 1280x### ?

I don't want to make my own HD videos, but some encodings with detailed content look much better at 960x432 than at 720x312 ...

No, only players with the newer Sigma Designs chipset.

hi there,

i just tested the siemssen player, not a 1389 player, but it can play 800x500 Xvid with MP3 audio. on the RH side of the image there is a vertical band of multicoloured stripes about 1 inch thick on a 28 inch monitor.
i tried 1000x500 but it said it could not play that file.

mark.
