I just saw I-O Data's LinkPlayer2 (http://www.iodata.com/usa/products/products.php?cat=HNP&sc=AVEL&pId=AVLP2%2FDVDLA) over at Slashdot. I think it's the same player that appears on the Doom9 front page (Sanyo HD-DVD (http://labs.divx.com/archives/000032.html)). Look at the right-side buttons.

It claims to be able to play 1080i content at up to 3.5Mbit/s from MP4.

Anyone know anything about this (these?) players? I guess the most important question would have to be what settings do we have to use to make sure our encodes are compatible, such as GMC, QPel and Matrix options.

Chip EM8620L (http://www.sigmadesigns.com/products/em8620Lseries.htm)

- MPEG2 MP@HP max resolution 1088i/p
- MPEG4 ASP@L5 max resolution 720p
- WMV9 MP@ML max resolution 720p

- Audio DSP supports Dolby® Digital
- LC-AAC
- WMA9 std & pro

-> WMV9 Pro / WMA9 Pro / WMV support
-> MPEG4 ASP / LC-AAC / MP4 support ???

ASP@L5 or MP@ML aren't High-def profil for me: 10 Mbps for max bitrate. In fact this chip support AS@L5 profil (Home Theater profil for DivX) and MP@ML with high resolution 720p.
