Plex PX-712a used at 140 fsb (instead of 133) produces roughly 6x as many PIE as does the same drive at the same burnspeed with a disc from the same spindle (checked with plextools 2.17). MB is an Epox 8kha+ using via kt266 chipset. The resulting error rate seems still well within bounds. In fact, it is less than the rate of my LiteOn 401s. Still it is a 6x increase. There are people, who OC the bus a lot more. Perhaps this is something to consider!

I should add that this fsb OC also increases the PCI-Bus, which I suspect to actually cause a deterioration. However, there could also be many other mechanisms at work. Another simple cause could be power demand. OCing the CPU will draw more power from the source. Perhaps this causes the drop in writing quality?
