Can someone explain how?
I have mplayer-mingw-1.0pre4

i get this msg when open realvideo in mkv container...
Opening video decoder: [realvid] RealVideo decoder
opening win32 dll 'drv4.so.6.0'
Error loading dll
ERROR: Could not open required DirectShow codec drv4.so.6.0.
Read the RealVideo section of the DOCS!
VDecoder init failed :(

You need Real codecs. Look on mplayer website, there are a lot of them in download section.

ok now, if someone can post exact instructions (what file to download to enable rv40, is it needed to create codecs.config ... )

sorry... anyway for the other people (who dont want to read docs)...

from the mplayer page
http://www.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/releases/codecs/
there is "rp9codecs-win32-20040626.tar.bz2" file to download

or...
http://csant.info/mplayer.htm
and on the bottom of the page you will find "RealPlayer9 codecs (including RV40) in .zip format (445KB)" to download

extract to "codecs" dir in mplayer dir and thats it...
