and why is it suggested to be used for real 10 encodeing?

Hi gavo,
You may be mixing up neutral bicubic resizing with bilinear resizing. Bilinear resizing is a softer way to resize video that doesn't take parameters in AVISynth so:
BilinearResize()
However, Bicubic has two values that adjust the perceived sharpness of the video at the expense of using extra bitrate or video space to store/encode it.
BicubicResize(640,480,0,0.5) is a neutral bicubic resize
BicubicResize(640,480,0,0.75) is a sharper bicubic resize
BicubicResize(640,480,0.333,0.333) is a softer bicubic resize
Use whater you prefer and fits your needs for bitrate usage.
Search around and read some guides at doom9.org for more info about it.

best way to think of the bicubic parameters is "blurring" and "ringing".
also, bob() can take these parameters, as it uses the bicubic resizer as well. if you want a "lossless" bob, where you can recover the interlaced frames perfectly with separatefields.selectevery(4,1,2), then make sure the blurring parameter is set to 0, and ringing is between 0 and 1 (it'll go higher, but looks pretty bad when it does).
