Problems with Widescreen TV

HI,

I have this problems: i got a dedicated PC plus to a 42" inch plasma TV via a RGB Port. The Only resolution i can set on is: 800x600 or 1024x768, i use 1024x768. Is there any way to "tell" windows that this is a 16x9 screen and not a DAM 4:3?

I have try a search on the forum but don't seem to find anything about it.

Is the resulting picture @ the TV cropped (top/bottom), shrinked (black boarders left/right) or stretched ???

what graphic card are you using. do you connect via digi or rgb cabel ? a bit more infos would help. i have a 16:9 42" screen and a nvidia card using. i can setup a 16:9 resolution but it was a bit of a pin in the a**. With the newest drivers it got a bit easier. nevertheless be prepared for a lot of testing :)

Install the newest drivers, they should give you 16:9 resolutions.
