Actually I do not know where to begin, such as what software, etc. I have a number of videos in VCD format because I previously only had a CD burner, but recently I acquired a DVD burner, so I was wondering how I can convert VCD to DVD format.

fast and briefly....

1: extract with VCDEASY (VCDEASY > Tools > Disassemble a (S)VCD Disc) the Video.
2: provide with DVDLab your DVD.

Do you need still more assistance?

Personally I wouldn't waste my time converting to dvd - yeah, it is nice to do so you learn sth., but the only thing you gain is not having to get off your lazy butt in the middle of the movie :D.
