subtitles problem

I did a search but didn't understand the answer to my problem.I'm trying to backup to an mpg file a dvd with forced subtitles:what should i select in the subtitles tab to have forced subtitles shown by default on my standalone dvd player?I tried SVCD,CVD and permanent but nothing seems to work:confused:

You must select the language of your "forced" subtitles and then check the "check box" on the right named "forced".
