I noticed for half-d1 it uses bilinear resize.. is there anyway to allow a choice of bilinear, bicubic, or lancoz resize? i prefer lancoz and it would be nice to be able to use whatever.

Doesn't your TV set support PAL?
I never convert a NTSC disc to PAL: any conversion always leads to quality degradation.

I don't know of any regular TVs that do (other than special universal/travel TVs), but a lot of cheap, chinese made, dvd players will automatically convert on the fly so you can watch PAL discs on your NTSC TV.

Here in Europe NTSC is supported since the last century :D... since the time of VCRs :p
Don't know if the same is applied to TV sets, though:o
