Greetings,
I have a simply question about the surround channel 90 degree phase shift option in SoftEncode.

Let's say the encoded 5.1 AC3 file is to be played on 5.1 systems, as well as 2.0 systems. Will the 90 degree phase shift for the rear surround channels alter the sound dynamics when played on 5.1 systems? Or will the phase shift only be noticeable when played on 2.0 systems?

I'm trying to avoid using 2 audio tracks. :)

Hi Frosty,

There's a good explanation of this at YOU ARE SURROUNDED (http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/dec01/articles/surround5.asp).

Steve.
