Freeware Alternatives to DVD Re-make?

I downloaded the demo and it looks promising, but I don't think I'm ready to pay $35 for something I can't try out in a fully functional version.

Are there any alternatives to this software that are free or at least trial versions that let you test the results in your hardware player?

I haven't heard anyone complain about DVDRemake being a ripoff, so I'm guessing it's pretty reliable. I don't know of any version that would let you test the results. As far as freeware, it's arguable. Between vobblanker, pgcedit and ifoedit, you can probably do everything that DVDRemake does, (and then some!).
If you tell us more specifically what you'd like to do, then maybe somebody here can tell you :).

I was trying to disable copyright warnings. Tried PgcEdit's "kill pgc playback" macro and it did magic! :)
