View Full Version : Missing vobs : "Reached end of VOB too early"

I repalced the last cell of my dvd to backup with one with the credits cutted out with ChopperXP and when I tested the result it worked perfectly.

Then I used the DIF4U-ReAuthorist-Scenarist-IfoUpdate chain to compress it, but when i tryed to burn the image with imgtools it can't reallocate the structure 'cause my last VTS_01_x.VOB is number 4, but it looks for number 5 and 6 (the unrecompressed stream as them).
I went on creating the image, but even if the movie plays correctly it can't jump to last chapters whith chapeters menu or by pressing the "next" button.

If try to edit the cell with VobBlanker I get the "Reached end of VOB too early" error.

Is there a way to correct the ifo to point to the right vobs?

Thx 2COOL: I read about it in the thread of VobBlanker, but it's not that.

I have the same kind of problem with other programs (and of course my input folder is different from the output one).

The error you are reporting means something is wrong in the IFOs. VobBlanker is trying to find data in a sector (taken from the IFO) but what it finds is the end of file.

Well, this is the theory, as you know, 2COOL found a bug where this error pops up, and the reason is completely different (and uncontrolled, BTW)

I don't think it is a bug of vobblanker or something like that, because the error appears only after re-encoding.

I'm just looking for a method to correct the ifo and find a way to cut out the credits (and save a lot of space/bitrate) in a re-authored dvd :)

I tryed to cut the movie with vobblanker (using the cut tool) but when I try to play the movie it skeeps the first cell.

The first (and probably the only easy one) thing you can try to correct the IFOs is to do a IFOedit's mock strip (two per VTS, one in menu and other in titles domain). And, at the end , do a "Get VTS sectors".
