Hi,
I'm trying to convert the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean" following the tutorial step by step.
I've ripped the disc with DVD Decrypter 3.5.10 in IFO mode.
I load the Dir that has the files in AutoGK 1.60.
I select a subtitle from the drop down box, and when i click Preview, i get this message:
EXCEPTION: Cannot open file "D:\PIRATESOFTHECARIBBEAN\VIDEO_TS\agk_tmp\pirates.idx". The system cannot find the file specified

What is .idx and how can i create it?
am i doing something wrong with Decryptor's settings?
THANKS

Hello, and welcome to the forum-
The movie.idx and movie.sub files are the VobSubs that are demuxed from the Vobs when you select subtitles, and then run the Preview. No .idx=no subs.
am i doing something wrong with Decryptor's settings?
Possibly. Did you make sure that the Stream Information, Include PGC Number, and Include Angle Number boxes were checked in Tools->Settings->IFO Mode, as detailed in the included guide? And did you make sure NOT to go into Stream Processing and demux the subs at the DVD Decrypter stage?

That wasn't it, eh? There are no idx/sub files under any name? I have only one other suggestion. Make sure that the IFO and the first Vob have the same name. That is, if the IFO is:
VTS_01_0.IFO
and the first Vob is:
VTS_01_PGC_01_1.VOB
then change the IFO so that it's named:
VTS_01_PGC_01_1.IFO
and then try again. If that's not it, then I'm stumped, and maybe len0x can help. The Stream Information.txt file does show that there are subs present, doesn't it? Oh, and by the way, when you play the Preview, there's not supposed to be any sound.

AutoGK renames IFO files automatically as I recall :)
So they should be picked up anyway...
@pavlos
Please post the contents of agk_tmp dir after right after the error occurs

I did change the IFO as you said and the result is a bit different.
Now i have the preview movie with no subtitles and the Stream Information.txt file says:
[10/14/2004 2:25:44 AM] IFO file is not found. Subtitle processing is disabled.
[10/14/2004 2:25:44 AM] Job finished.(All the ather is the same).

Hi len0x,
The contents of the agk_tmp File is:
1)preview.d2v File
2)Subtitle file
3)vobsub.params
PARAMS file
This is without changing the IFO into VOB.

What is "subtitle file"?
Do you see vobsub running at all? From what I see in the logs - vobsub is not doing its job (may be reinstall of it helps).

Its an archive(notebook icon)wich contains unknown caracters.
Should i make any changes in the VobSub configure settings or leave it in his defaults?
