Hi everyone! I don't know if this is a right place, but i would appreciate some help!!! :)

I've did several backup of Dvd using DVD-rb and I always only leave the 5.1 Dolby or DTS to play it on my Home theater.

But now i've got a laptop and no sound is coming out, probably because i only a pair of 2 speakers... Does someone know a dvd-program that can take DTS or Dolby and transform it to stereo, so that i would be able to play it on my laptop??

Thanks

It has nothing to do with how many speakers you have connected. Your software dvd player on your laptop has to have a DD or DTS decoder. I'm not sure of any free solutions, but windvd platinum 5 has both decoders built in, but I'm sure there are alternatives.

AC3Filter (http://ac3filter.sourceforge.net/)
Loads fine with MPC (media player classic). VideoLAN (VLC) has liba52, another free/opensource ac3 decoder, built-in.

Both PowerDVD and WinDVD should be able to do as you ask!

Also, Nero's ShowTime Player, which comes as part of Nero VisionExpress and is available as a free monthly demo, will be able to decode DoblyDigital (and DTS provided it's registered) and once installed will enable Windows MediaPlayer 9/10 to play DVD's.

You could also give MediaPlayer Classic and VideoLAN a try, both are free and work well.
