Hi,
I will use the DVD2SVCD 1.2.2 build3 in order to create DVD movies to DVD.
I have read many threads, but is it not to easy. By the installation I have also installed
D2SRoBa 3.6, because I use cce 2.67 SP.
Now my questions:
a) I start with Roba – then comes a window from Roba “Use transcoder if oversized” etc.; i click okay; changing nothing???
b) Now opened DVD2SVCD: By the encoder tab I have choosen the path to eclcce
c) What else?? Must I activated “DVD Ripping” or does Roba automat. start Decrypter
d) By the tab “DVD Image” is DVD Author correct or Sonic Sce.?? Where I can get Scenerist??
e) What else I have to do??
f) Then under “Conversation” I opened the DVD and it automat. starts? Is this right??
g) One VBR with Roba is really better than multipass 3 or 4??

Thanks in advance!!

a) D2SRoBa tells DVD2SVCD to start up with certain settings in the tabs.
c) you must activate DVD Rip yourself. D2SRoBa does not do anything before the CCE encoding starts.
d) Scenarist is expensive, and you don't need it - use DVDAuthor.
e) Set a progresive CCE template in the Encoder tab: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=64800
f) You then must press "Go!"|"Rip and convert" to start... (?)
g) Most people say OPV with Roba is equal to 3-4 VBR passes. Some even say it's better, some say it's a little worse - but it is much faster than multipass.

Hi tylo,
thanks for the answer.
I have downloaded the templates (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=64800)
and have made a double click on “CCE_267_Templates.reg”. Okay?

Now I start roba, click “Go” and DVd2SVCD opens.
Now I go to the encoder tap – advanced settings. The botton “use cce templates” is not possible. I can´t choose any template, why???
I will creat a Pal DVD!!

What is my mistake? Sorry for my bad English.
Cu, Aristoteles

You need to go to the MISC tab and select Advanced as the DVD2SVCD level.

I have select "Advanced"!!

I have read the thread "Use CCE templates-greyed out"

Thats correctly my problem:
I have the latest version of DVD2SVCD 1.22.b3 with the roba plugin, EclCCE, and CCE 2.67.00.23.
I downloaded the cce templates and merged them into the registry. But when I use DVD2SVCD and go into the advanced settings the "use cce template" part is greyed out.

Is there now a solution to get the templates to work or not???

In want to create a DVD to DVD – do i need templates?? Or are the templates only for DVD to SVCD??

Hi,

Templates are used for both SVCDs & DVDs.

I suspect the problem is because you have not run eclCCE.exe and told it where your CCE cctspt.exe file is.

Run eclCCE.exe and make sure it points to your CCE cctspt.exe file. In DVD2DVD (in the encoder tab) next to Cinema Craft Encoder 2.5 put the path of your eclCCE.exe file.

This guide may help you set everything up: http://www.geocities.com/syzygydvd/index.htm
(you don't need FACAR though, just stick to LanczosResize for now, and use DVD-Author for authoring).

Hope this helps,
Bob

I used the advanced settings and i have run eclCCE.exe and told it where my CCE cctspt.exe file is.

the problem seems to be cce 2.67.00.23!!

@profis: is there a solution ?? Or are the templates not important??

It works on 2.67.00.23, that is what I have configured.

I've used DVD2DVD for quite awile now and from time to time, I have changed a reg setting or an ini file that makes the process go whacky. After spending far too much time and still having the problem. in the end I just scrub and delete it all off the system and do a clean install of DVD2DVD and D2SROBA and that usually gets the basics going again. Then I carefully customize it back to what I wanted.

My config is DVD2SVCD (DVD-DVD mode), D2SRoba, ecICCE, CCE 2.67.00.23, AVISYNTH FACAR and FACAR Detect borders. The rest of it is the standard stuff that comes off the full installation DVD2SVCD file.

@ bobwillis and all other

i have installed cce sp 2.67.00.27 and then the templates. The result is that the field is no longer greyed out and i can choose the templates.

with 2.67.00.23 was no success.

Thanks for the help!!

Hi aristoteles1000,

Glad to hear you got it working. Did you uninstall v2.67.00.23 before installing v2.67.00.27?

I find your reply strange, because I had no such problems with v2.67.00.23.

Bob

Hi bobwillis,

it only works if you first uninstall cce 2.67.00.23.
Then install 2.67.00.27 and all is allright.

P.S. i seek a tutorial about scenarist 2.7, if possible in german.
a) to use with dvd2svcd: i know that dvdAuthor works, but i will try it
b) to load avi files from a camcorder, use dvd2svcd to make mpg and then manual author with scenarist

Hi,

As I said in the other forum, scenarist and dvd2dvd is an automatic operation, there is no user involvement required.

However, if you want a german guide of how to use scenarist manually, there is one at http://german.doom9.org/ (under guides, dvd/minidvd, dvd authoring guides, scenaristNT)

Bob
