Copying PAL to NTSC - will my method work????

I want to copy a Region 0 PAL DVD and am looking for help.

I think the easiest way to do this is to use a multi system DVD player (cyberhome 300) to convert the PAL disk to NTSC out.

I assume the output from the dvd player will be NTSC.

Will I then be able to capture this DVD on my hard drive (using my digital camcorder as a pass thru)as an NTSC video file?

Can I then use that video file in my video editor (Pinnacle Studio 8)

Don't bother. There is easier way directly digital.

You are right, most of the new DVD palyers do not need conversion. You put PAL and output is NTSC and viceversa. If you still want to do it:

1. Rip the DVD on HD.
2. Use dvd2avi to create projects for your VOBs.
3. Use Avisinth with proper script to change frame rate.
4. Use BeSweet to change rate of the audio.
5. Re-author DVD (Rejig, Ifoedit).
