View Full Version : Multiple PGCs - Rip 3 at a time into 1 VOB

it's a 2 DVD set. each DVD has 8 episodes. each episode is 1 PGC (16 PGCs, around 22 minutes each). i want to rip 3 PGCs to my HD as one VOB set (however many VOBs that may be after exceeding 1GB). then i want to use DVD2SVCD to encode this 3-PGC VOB set to a 1CD-SVCD (around 66 minutes). however, i don't want it to output 1 large MPEG file. i want it to be cut as 3 seperate episodes, but when burned together on 1 CDR, will fit nicely.

is this possible? or is there another (better) way to do it?

i COULD rip each PGC seperately, making 16 VOB (sets). however, i wouldn't know how to set D2S to encode 1 at a time, and encode the next 2 so that the first 3 will fit "perfectly" on a 700MB CDR.

there might be a problem between the 1st and 2nd DVD. 16 episodes, if i do 3 at a time, it'll come out: (1,2,3)(4,5,6)[(7,8)(9)](10,11,12)(13,14,15)(16). i don't know how i'd rip 7 and 8 and put it together with 9 from the 2nd DVD. (joining VOBs from different VOB sets?)

would this help?: http://ifoedit.wh.fr0zen.com/joinclip.html . if i joined 3 VOB sets, then i could set D2S to encode by chapter or frame selection (i don't know how to put chapters in a VOB). but would still encode it with the same settings as if it were encoding the entire VOB set? could i put chapters into the new VOB set (the one containing 3 VOB sets), tell D2S to encode the entire thing, then split it by chapters?
