View Full Version : Sync Problem

Hello,

I'm using dvd2svcd quite a while and I often found help in this Forum when searching for it. But I dind't find anything matching my actual problem.
I try to convert a dvd to svcd, and like always I use frameselection. But in the converted file A/V is not in sync. When I use "Don't convert audio" there is no sync problem, but I can't create CD-Images.
Can anyone give me a hint either how to get it sync'ed or how to create a CD-Image with the source sound. (btw will the latter propably play on my standalon player?)

Are you using a menu when you create the SVCD?

When I use menus or any kind of Title Picture it creates a synch problem.

How did you ripped your DVD? If you didn't use the internal routines... use it ;)

No, i'm not using a menu or a title picture, and i ripped it with the internal routines.
But after starting this thread I gave it the million and first try, and now it seems to be okay (I tried another "Movie offset seconds" value).
Now I'll let run the whole thing and see if it's okay.
Thanks so far...

Well...
When I converted just some little pieces of that movie to check out the settings, I found some with which there were no sync problems. But now I converted the whole movie with exactly the same settings and the sync problem is back!
Can anyone tell me why this happens, or even better, how to solve this problem?

I'll attach the dvd2svcd_log so one can have a look at it if this is helpful. As said before these are exactly the same settings I used to convert pieces of only few minutes (but only from one vob, may this be the cause?).

Edit:
Seems like I can't attach a file. I can post the log here if someone's interrested in...

extracted audio lenth (split in beesweet) = video length (CCE part frames/25)
however CD image 1 length + CD image 2 length - 3 sec CD overlap together is longer with 1,72 then encoded video and audio.

Does this problem appear, if you set CD overlap to 0 sec?

Nick, what is your opinion?

matzeone

Yes, it appears with an CD-Overlap of 0 seconds.
Or did you mean the Movie Offset? When I changed this to 3 the small parts I converted had been in sync. Any new suggestions?
