is there a one-click solution that can compress specific chapters instead of an entire title?
here's my situation ... i've got a dvd9 image of an anime with 9 episodes on it. now each episode is divided into the intro, main show, credits and a preview of the next chapter. the intro, credits and preview chapters take up a whopping 120mb per episode and i wanna compress it more than the main show. can i go about doing this with a one-click solution or with rebuilder?
if not, can someone point me to a thread that explains how to do this or move this thread altogether to the proper forum ...

Hey Rail,
I think your best bet may be to use DVD Rebuilder and use the RB-Opt add on utitlity. What rb-opt does if your not familiar with it is it looks at your rebuilder.ini file (one created from running the prepare phase in rebuilder) and from that you can setup different custom matrices to use, different filters, and you can change the amount of compression on a vob id level. Or was it cell id? cant quite remember but im pretty sure this is just what your lookinng for. So what you want to do is get rebuilder all set up and working the way it should be then set the settings to how you want them and run the prepare phase. When thats done open up rb opt and load your rebuilder.ini you just made in prepare phase. Now if you uncheck the auto bitrate box or soemthing like that you can tweak the vob cells. And now you see each vts broken down by vob or cell id and from there you can specify different bitrates for each id. So you are going to need to know which id's correspond to what chapters then go in and make the changes. Also you can setup cce to use one of its anime preset filters (which i recommend). Give it a whirl and let me know if you have any questions.

ok so i'm ready to throw in the anime filters but i don't know where to find the anime presets you're talking about (probably because i'm using cce sp 2.67 trial) ... what settings would u recommend for cce to manually make the preset?

Or use the easy-to-use DVD Shrink. It has the ability to apply different amounts of compressions to different parts of a movie.
Check out ddlooping's tutorial for how to do this or check out the stickies at the DVDShrink forum:

Or do what I do, and use DVD Shrink's reauthor to trim out the chapters you don't want. You then end up with multiple titles, each corresponding to some chapters. You won't get seamless playback since they're all separate titles, but you can then combine all the titles into one using programs like DVD2One, TMPGEnc Reauthor, Nero Recode - then you'll get seamless playback. DVD2One takes me about 7 minutes to combine several titles into one.

You cant reauthor the movie on a chapter level with shrink what are you talking about. YOu can only arrange at vts level.

The only way I know how to use the anime presets is by using RB-Opt. In which case they are in the CCE settings button on the main window of RB-Opt after you open the rebuilder.ini
