I just wanted to see how well DVD2SVCD would work on the new Beta Windows XP 64. It was only a one off quick test and I didn't finish the encode or run Scenerist. I just ran Internal Routines to rip, DVD2AVI and CCE.
All worked without a problem. CCE was ever so slightly faster, but not enough to say it was the OS. It could have easily have been that there was less running at the time or just the normal difference between 2 tries.
If you have an AMD 64 CPU and want to try Windows XP 64 bit edition in a free time limited demo from Microsoft DL'ed it here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/64bit/evaluation/upgrade.mspx
For broadband only as it is about 480MB's or so. It will not run on non 64 bit cpu's or the Intel Itanium. I think it will run on the latest P4's, but check the list of approved CPU's.
Please install this on a seperate Boot drive as it will kill your current install.
