Quality loss with decrypter and shrink over just shrink

I was just wondering is there any quality loss ripping a complete dvd to hard drive with decrypter and then using shrink on the hard drive over just using shrink straight from the dvd.
I only ask because i read somewhere that you shouldnt use the first way.

Actually alot of people (me included) will say that you shouldnt use the second way. I dont know it just seems that when an application tries to do everything then it fails to do anything. Im not saying anything bad about shrink, i love the app. I just think that decrypter is a fantastic, intuitive, and generally error free ripping solution. So why change that. But if you have had luck with using shrink to do everything by all means do it up.
