Help! RCA DVD+R Home Deck Read?

My brother in-law made a DVD on his RCA DVD+RW machine. Unfortunately it cannot be viewed on any other DVD player - nor can I even see the files through Windows Explorer or any other PC tool.

If this issue has been discussed, I apologize for not finding it on our site, but I did look.

Does anyone know how I can go about accessing this DVD. Perhaps converting it so that I can see the files or play it on my PC or home deck? Any help would be fantastic!

I know very little about this type of stuff, I'm relatively new, but I'll try to give you something to think about.

Apparently from what I'm reading, certain players don't like certain types of media. (discs)

For example my PS2 won't read ANY kind of DVD+RW discs that I have. Does the DvD Player read other DVD+R discs? Maybe try DVD-R if you think you burned the disc right.

Another thing to think about, if the DVD is authored some players won't read it unless it has a VIDEO_TS and an AUDIO_TS folder, does this DvD have both?
