I try to backup Bigfish with some BOV using scenaid(final) and when scenarist compile i get this error

Error No valid Sub-Picture exists for highlight 00:00:53;14 in Track(VTS10_001_Track) Sub-Picture stream 2.

Error No valid Sub-Picture exists for highlight 00:02:10;15 in Track(VTS11_001_Track) Sub-Picture stream
Anyone know what the problem can be??

the BoV support in ScenAid is still really beta so there's bound to be some issues...
what version of Scenarist are you using first of all? 3.0 currently has issues w/ the BoV support... 2.7 is the recommended version.
Second there is a periodic bug that cuases the highlight to import 2 frames off from the subs.... go to these time frames and see if the highlight is lined up, if not nudge them back to the same start/duration as the subs

I use 2.7
when i use the simulation window to check the BOV subs i cant see them, only the squares..how to go back frames in the simulation window ?

not in the simulation window.. in the track... "buttons" are located in the "Highlight play" of the specific item
find that time in the track, then compare the highlight start/duration to the sub start/duration above it (note: if your in NTSC land, the time shown w/ the error is without dropframe so you'll find your sub slightly after the time listed)

Error Interval between HLI at 00:08:35;14 and previous one is too short against HLI buffer
Im not sure what it means??...

That errors means there is another highlight too close to this one. It could be after or before. Does the timecode 00:08:35;14 represent the end of a sub/highlight or the start of one? What sub timecodes are before and after? I have found that there needs to be a minimum of 1s9f (34 frames as your PAL) between highlights IF in the same scene/cell.

in the original I bet these act as animated...... i'm working on something that will allow us to fix these kind of things automagically..
for now you gotta correct manually...

00:08:36;01 00:00:01;11
00:08:37;12 00:00:00;22 problem
the above 3 are going to be a problem. You havent said which have highlights associated with them, but assuming they all have, then look at the buttons for each highlight and in the scenario look at the button commands. post here what you have.

Sorry to bring up this old thread but I am having trouble backing up 24 Season 3 Disc 1. The project imports ok but when I try to compile i get this error:
Error No valid Sub-Picture exists for highlight 00:30:57:25 in Track(VTS06_001_Track) Sub-Picture stream 3.
Error No valid Sub-Picture exists for highlight 00:30:57:25 in Track(VTS06_001_Track) Sub-Picture stream 4.
Error No valid Sub-Picture exists for highlight 00:30:57:25 in Track(VTS06_001_Track) Sub-Picture stream 5.
all the way up to Sub-Picture stream 10. I think I ran into this problem b4 when there were a lot of subs, and I only kept the english ones and unchecked all the other ones in DIF4U. I think there were 10 streams too of subs, but the last 4 or whatever were just ? marks in DIF4U. Any ideas how i can fix this? Sorry for being totally clueless about this. Thanks for ur help
Edit: If i turn off BOV in Scenaid I only get a sub-overlapping error when I try to compile...but I tried to fix it by deleting the problematic sub that was overlapping and it gave me another error for the next sub.

Scenarist 3.0?
If so, scenarist 3.0 has issues w/ my bov.. er.. Scenaid has issues w/ Scenarist 3.0 and BoV is better :)
I'm working on a fix but not sure when I'll get it done
If 2.7... then it could be an issue w/ removing the stops... i ran across that once before where most the streams don't have the same alignment..
I really need to rewrite the BoV stuff a little cleaner

It was with 2.7. I actually got it to compile properly by deselecting Enable BOV support and checking remove subs with < 1 sec duration. It was able to compile with no big deal. The dvd plays fine (I think) too so its all good.

there are at times an issue w/ 2.7 where a highlight imports at slightly different place then the sub even though the times are correct in the script.
I still haven't found why this is but if it compiled ok for you by disabling BoV that leads me to think that might be the problem here...
