Hi everyone,

Smart Ripper made files on my hd but im not sure do i burn all of them or just the VOB files.. Im going to write down what Smart Ripper split.

vts_01.d2v
vts_01.idx
vts_01.lst
vts_01_0.ifo
vts_01_1
vts_01_2
vts_01_3
vts_01_4
vts_01_INFO

Plus i want want to copy the BUP file and the IFO files but not sure if copy the files on how to each CD i made the VOBs or what.. Will someone post up step by step instructions or guides or something how to burn a miniDVD?? Please reply back ASAP..

A DVD contains of *.ifo,*.bup,*.vob files. The Media CD or DVD is not important. So you need to burn these 3 filetypes. I'm not sure about the smartripper 699mb parts you created.

I'd do this:
1. Take the encoded video, and cut it into ~699mb parts maybe a bit less to be sure it fits. You can take MPEG2Schnitt oder Cuttermaran or whatever for this.
2. Take the first Part, authore it, and burn it.
3. Take the second Part, ......

In Nero just select VIDEODVD and copy the *.ifo *.bup *.vob files of the first part into the VIDEO_TS folder. That's what you do with each part.

I really dont understand what your trying to do this its just confusing me. Is there an easier way to do this with a step by step guide??

Well, what I'm doing is cutting the mpeg video that you want to put on the miniDVD. And then authore each part on its own. That's cause I'm not sure what you did with smarripper and if it did the right thing. The way I described it'll work for sure and is actually very easy.

well im telling you that is really confusing and i dont have a clue what your doing..

just create a dvd as you would normally .. using whatever tools you like and feel com-fort-able with. BUT.. there are two restrictions .. one is that you will be restricted to around 20-40mins at normal dvd bitrates and the other is that your software must have the ability to output an image file (ISO file).
Then simply burn the ISO file to disc(cdr) using nerdo (making sure it is smaller than the CDR, normally 700mb.)
(in nero choose "other" format). However many many players fail to recognize a dvd that is on CDr media, why? I know not..

n.b. if you are really clever you can mount your mini-dvd iso file as a virtual drive, run it thru Dvd-shrink to get the correct size.

Also lowering the sound quality from ac3 5.1 to AC3 2.0 can also save many Kbytes.

Direkt link to download: http://cuttermaran.movie2digital.de/files/Cuttermaran%201.60.zip

1.Download it
2.Cut the video

If you are still trying to do it "my" way, then do these 2 steps and post when you are ready fo the next step.

Chris

Will you please post the rest of the steps all at once??

Ok,

1. Download cuttermaran
2. Cut the video into pieces of about 690Mb size. How to do that, http://cuttermaran.movie2digital.de/cuttermaran_e/doc.htm
or hit google.
3. Use an authoring programm to authore each part as DVD. I don't know what program you have or want to use. But I'm sure there is documentation oder guide for each programm on the website.
4. Use Nero to burn each part. To do that, select Video-DVD, then new.
There will be a VIDEO_TS folder. in this folder you drag&drop all files from the first disc. (*.vob *.bup and *.ifo). then burn it. Then do this for all the parts you have. new -> Video DVD -> drag&drop ->.....

Is there any step by step guides on how to use cuttermaran?? because i dont understand the guide above and the guides at dvdrhelp.com arent in english. I tried google but didnt find to much..

That's where everything you need is. Open the video file. Search for an I-Frame to start the part of the movie, mark it, search for an p frame, that will be the end of that part, mark it, cut it.
Sorry, but that's just straight forward.....:confused:

thats way to complicated. Let me ask once more. Is there any FREE step by step guides how to do this?? the link abopve is not step by step. no where close. It tells me what the buttons are for. Its not a guide.

Dont use cuttermaran .. there are no guides.. use software for which there are guides eg any other mpeg editing software.. cuttermaran is a terrible pun anyway!
