Hi! First of all sorry if somebody else asked this question but I searched in the forum and I could not find an answer..
My problem is: I installed Xvid from Keopi and also WinDvd 6.
When I try to play an xvid using bsplayer, the codec used to decode is the one from intervideo, and not xvid!!

Does anybody know how to use xvid in this situation? I don't want to unistall Windvd every time!

Thanks for your help

When I last checked WinDVD couldn't play back MPEG-4 by itself, it can only borrow dshowfilters (like XviD's) which you already have installed, so you can watch a movie with the WinDVD player. Probably what you see is Intervideo's AC3 dshowfilter.

Well, now it does! :) It says "Intervideo MPEG4 Video Decoder" as filter used during the playback..

Well, whaddaya know... :)

Go to the 'sounds and multimedia' control-panel, then to 'hardware', to 'video-codecs' and lower the Intervideo-codec's priority.

I am sorry for bothering but..it doesn't work! From bsplayer I see that the filter's name is MP4VDEC.AX but in the list I don't have that codec and in every property's page I click I can't set that params..

here is a screenshot..

Emh..why can't I upload the image?

If you don't want the intervideo one, just unregister it.

In case you're unsure how: regsvr32 /u mp4vdec.ax

Or just delete the damn bugger.

.ax and from recollection there are two of them, one in common files and the other the main windvd directory.

wow..that worked!! I had to unregister both the dlls..but now it works fine!
May I ask another question? My last one! :) I just think it's OT..o'well in that case if you can just tell me where to ask it..

I recently bought the SB Audigy 2 7.1 and I am having problems with movies in AC3..

1)I can't hear the voice anymore, I guess it's because ac3filters support just 5.1 soundcard
2) If I set the speakers in ac3filters like Dolby Surround I can hear the voice but the volume is loud for the first 5 min, than it goes lower and lower

Could you help me with my 2 problems!? :) Thanks again, you've been really helpful!

On a side-note, the (bottom-right)image uploaded says that " XviD drivers are installed but don't work properly" (or something equivalent)

hhhmmmphh? anyone care to explain? :D.

Yeah, don't ask me why!! :) I guess it's another Windows bug, since I can see everything correctly and since it says that for every codec!!!!! LOL, I'd like an explanation too..
