dvdx 2.3 crashes at the beggining of encoding when selecting YUY2 export setting in output setttings of dvdx. When selecting RGB24 or any other its fine.
Codec is divx pro 5.2.1
dvdx 2.2 doesn't have this problem.

ah so its when Dr Divx is installed. that is strange. i only tested it using the pro trial 5.2.1 so no wonder i couldnt reproduce the problem. :)

thnx for reply.
I do not have Dr Divx installed just divx pro 5.2.1 codec.
I also noticed it works when export setting is set to RGB24 (DVDx 2.3).
DVDx 2.2 works fine with divx pro 5.2.1

thanks again

hmm ok can you try this then

switch to YUY2, then click the settings button(to bring up Divx's settings),change any settings you want, click ok in that, click ok from the output settings, try encoding.

this will just confirm the settings are registered with DVDx properly.

nop DVDx 2.3 crashes.
Yes i did change to YUY2, then configure divx codec OK an then apply and then tried to encode.
Its buffering VOB file in RAM, then encodes betwen 10 and 80 frames and then stops and crash

I use dvdx sonce version 2.0
changing to RGB24 works fine

well i dont know then. i did change the codec settings handling slightly so codecs such as huffyuv and vcm9 etc work but that should not be causing this. besides if it was the problem why is it only on some peoples and not others and why does 5.1.1 and earlier not suffer from this aswell(as mentioned in that post on the Divx forum) and why did a person(again from that post) also have the same problem with GKnot ? very strange indeed.

i dont have time to look deeply in to this at the moment and since i can not reproduce it it would not be easy to start with. i will however write it down and look at it when able.

Uncheck "Rotate Artwork" in the encoder settings dialog. Seems to be giving me the same problem.

that doesn't help either - still crashing.
It's not a major bug, I can still encode with export setting set to RGB24.
DVDx2.2 works fine with DivX 5.2.1 so i'll stick with that version and i don't really need support for HuffYUV...

DigitAl and I were talking about the bug, but I think we got sidetracked when I noticed something else. I'll take a look into it further.
