<Qestion A>
When using the command-line Producer, my monitor cannot enter sleep mode. When using the SDK front-end, Easy RealMedia Producer, there is no such problem. How can I solve this problem?
</Question A>

<Qestion B: about videoDupFrameDropper>
I mainly use Easy RealMedia Producer. I recently had to use the commnand-line Producer (& other front-ends to help me make .rpjf files.) because ERMP doesn't have the detailed setting of the videoDupFrameDropper setting (for example, <maxAvgSSD type="uint">1</maxAvgSSD>) and it desn't allow editing of the job file.

The question is can I specify all these videoDupFrameDropper detail settings in the Registry file so that it works with ERMP?

A: I have noticed the same problem myself, and have to remember to turn my LCD off when I leave the computer while it's encoding a long sequence. I don't know why, but will ask the Producer team. Is this a general problem with command line programs, I wonder.. I will try with another cmd line program..

B: no, I am afraid the VideoDupFrameDropper can not be controlled by the registry. It would be easy to add though. I wish someone would be willing to try to set up the build environment, and check out the Producer source code to help us out with VideoDupFrameDropper improvements :) There is plenty of room to improve this filter, both feature- and functionality-wise.

I might try some day, but first I would need to transcode to delphi :D

Hi, Karl, Sirber. Thanks for your answer.

I really wish that the command-line Producer can let my LCD to sleep. As to turning off the monitor myself, I have been wondering whether it has negative effect on my display card or not. I mean... The display card is still sending out signal (the screen saver, even the blank one is some kind of signal???) But the monitor is off... Ok I don't know what I am talking about. I think I am just too paranoid.

If the graphic card send data, but the monitor is turned off, it will just get ignored. Nothing will break :) It's like, my VHS is on and send data, but my TV is closed. IT'S GONNA EXPLODE!!!!!!!! ;)

[edit]

Just kidding, no offence :D
