Hi

I'm not a coder so please forgive me if I am asking something really stupid!

I was wondering if a tool that does the following would be useful or already exists.

I'm looking to be able to take an MPEG2 stream from DTT and transcode it to H.264 / AAC in the MP4 container.

As far as I know Videolan will do this if you can compile it with x264 support.

But it would be good to be able to take other inputs like DV / VOB etc, add a few AVS filters and output a spec compliant MP4 file with H.264 and AAC audio.

Does anyone know of a tool to do this, if not what would be required to make one given all the projects out there working this area.

FFMPEG, VideoLan, x264, MP4UI, MP4creater, Besweet etc etc.

Platform independence is good, don't want to be stuck to windows especially.

Any ideas?

Thanks all

Ivan
