Add menu without re-authoring

Hi Everyone of this forum!

I'm new here and i hope not to ask too much but anyway...
Im tryin to use a guide (Add a menu to a DVD without re-authoring, using DVD-Lab Pro) of this site (http://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=220758) and im having problems. Anyone can help me, please?
I followed the guide without any problems till this part:

Finally open the VIDEO_TS.IFO file
Click on VMGM_PGCI_UT table, then on the +, then on the first PGC
Modify the second command to 20 04 00 00 00 00 00 02 (DVD-Lab makes by default the Title key on the remote to jump to the root menu but we don't have one).
Then click on the VMG_PTT_SRPT table and modify the number of chapters to the correct one.
Finally click on the VMG_VTS_ATRT table and modify the number of audio and subtitle streams to the correct one, then modify the attributes by double-clicking on each in the top view (the VMG overview).

If someone could explain me some parts of above text i will be very glad:

Later at same text Petar says :
" However, in the latest Beta I noticed that DVD-Lab doesn't do this anymore. Won't hurt to include this command anyway just in case (make it the first one instead of the second one)."

Q1: 1st or 2nd command, anyway, 1st or 2nd FROM WHAT EXACTLY? from PRE- COMANDS of first PGC of VMGM_PGCI_UT table?

Q2: In IFOEDIT i just can see attributes at the bottom view not at top view, what im doin wrong?

Q3: The attributes, i get them exactly FROM WHERE? I copied them from VM SCRIPT window of Object Commands of DVD LAB, am i right?

Q4: when i edit the attributes, in the audio attributes the available digits in the IFOEDIT field match exactly with digits of VM SCRIPT window of Object Commands of DVD LAB. but the sub-picture attributes in IFOEDIT are shorter than in DVD LAB. the last 2 pairs of numbers just dont fit. am i in the right place?

I have succeded to add menus to movie-only backups several times. (I used to backup my movies with DVD2DVDR + CCE which is a movie only method). I've found the simplest way to that is to use the "Import Menu" feature of PGCEdit. Another simple way to use DVDReMake but it is not a free application. I think this time it is unnecessarily difficult to use a reauthoring tool to achieve your goal.

I does a DVD-lab pro version exist? I went to their site and it states the pro version is not released yet. Anyway, let me take a stab at your questions....

It looks like this guide is merging the VMG output from DVD-lab with a VTS from another source. The main idea of this is you need to modify the DVD-lab VMG to get it to correctly describe your VTS.

Q1: Yest the pre-commands of the firs PGC of the VMGM_PGCI_UT table. Basically, you need to modify the commands so you will see the desired menu, instead of the original command sequence which would jump to a root menu on the DVD-lab VTS.

Q2: "Top view" refers to the overview, not the "top pane" window. The overview is what you get when you first open the ifo. In the ifoedit overview, you can edit the

Q3 & Q4: copy the attributes as described in the original VMG for the VTS you are merging with DVD-lab output. I am not sure about VM SCRIPT as I haven't used DVD-lab, so I can't answer that.

The following guide may be of some assistance. Just make allowance for the fact you've already got your movie processed by other than DVDShrink.

This guide is a little bit outdated, because it still uses MenuEdit (not free) to modify the menu button commands. Now, you may use PgcEdit's menu editor for that purpose.
