I've imported some DV Video from a CamCorder from a wedding which has come out very dark - I can lighten it no problem with VirtualDub, but I don't understand the balance between Contrast and Brightness and can't get the video looking anything like decent - is there a guide or a simple formula to get things looking OK and balance the Contrast and Brightness?

You might want to try the (brightness-contrast-gamma) plug-in. The use of gamma will give most times better results. Also look at the histsgram plug-in

Thanks for that - but you and other threads mention plugins like the gamma plugin amongst others but I can't find them for download - the downloads section doesn't seem to list any plugins for VirtualDub. Any ideas where they can be had, please?
