View Full Version : Help in Converting NTSC to Pal With Procoder 2.0

I'm trying to convert an NTSC mpeg2 clip to a PAL mp2 and on my first attempt today it came out quite jerky, it pauses slightly ever second. I take it this is something to do with the fps difference?

I thought Canopus procoder 2.0 was supposed to do a good standards conversion.
Although it's better than my attempts with other sofware it still isn't watchable.

OR...am I doing something wrong?

I'd appreciate any useful tips/settings advice on doing a good conversion.

I'm doing it the manual method rather than the Wizard.

Many Thanks

Is this maybe a field order problem? I have never used Procoder, but I used to be on another video forum where a guy there did use for NTSC to PAL conversions and he said it was the best program he'd ever seen for the job. Your problem sounds suspiciously to me like you have a field order problem during encoding as I have seen this kind of result with CCE encodes I have done to re-encode NTSC video to a lower bit rate. If you tried Top Field First (or whatever Procoder calls it) try Lower Field First or vice-versa.
